The Regional Coordinator at Pacific Coast Children's Resources Inc., will have the personality, ability, and temperament necessary to interact with individuals, their families, and advocates in a manner that supports the development of quality person-centered services. The Regional Coordinator will work alongside the Regional Manager and other Managers/Coordinators as delegated to develop and oversee community living services. This may include ‘supports to live in my home’, community inclusion, outreach, home share, and other services as determined.

The Regional Coordinator will oversee a combination of Community Inclusion employees, Staffed Home employees, and Home Share Providers in a manner that fosters rapport and encourages open communication to ensure standards are being met and quality services are provided. The Regional Coordinator may oversee Community Inclusion Coordinators, Home Share Coordinators, or Staffed Home Managers as directed by the Regional Manager.

The Regional Coordinator shall be responsible for the development, daily operation, and evaluation of the community living services. The Regional Coordinator is also expected to work and collaborate with colleagues as part of Pacific Coast Community Resource’s larger team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Develop programs for individuals (Home Share, Community Inclusion, Respite, etc.)

- Training and overseeing managers in all aspects of the program operations

- Assist in program training, staff development, and provide support and guidance to employees/Managers/Contractors to ensure quality services

- Providing guidelines and directions to the managers and employees regarding all aspects of behavior interventions, restrictions, techniques, etc.

- Assist employees and Coordinators and Managers with supported people’s health issues, including mental health and behavioral referrals and program plan implementation

- Supporting and meeting needs of individuals, family members, and advocates

- Participate in developing the strategic direction for service delivery in the region

- Monitor individual programs and ensure that all regulatory guidelines and standards are met

- Maintain all personnel, payroll, and financial records as required

- Coordinate crisis response and assist with problem solving, when necessary, in accordance with all regulatory procedures, policies, and guidelines

- Lead the implementation of ongoing risk management activities for all services (risk assessments, Behavior Support Plans, etc.)

- Partner with Human Resources department on all recruitment needs

- Responsible for management and oversight of the regional occupational health and safety initiatives including WorkSafe BC, DMI as directed

- Lead and/or participate in additional Committees or special projects as directed

- To advise Regional Manager & Human Resources Director of labor relations issues and participate in the successful resolution of these matters as direction

- Attend meetings as required

- Meet with Directors and Regional Manager and perform tasks as requested

Qualifications and Skills

- Associate's degree or post-secondary Certificate/Diploma in social services, health care, or a related field

- At least two years of experience in a related field, preferably with some supervisory or leadership experience

- Willingness to obtain a Criminal Records Search

- Current first-aid and CPR certification

- Unrestricted Class 4 driving license (preferred but not mandatory)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Work Environment and Expectations

Office Presence: This role is based in our main office.

Travel Requirements: Regular travel is required to effectively engage with our teams and community partners. This includes periodic visits to various service locations to support and interact directly with staff and stakeholders.
