You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
- Education: Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in crop science, biochemistry, plant biology or in a related agricultural program. At a later stage in the selection process, you will be required to provide documentation verifying your educational credentials. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. - Experience: Experience working with plant disease of fungal nature. Experience providing technical support for research in greenhouse or laboratory environment. Experience conducting basic molecular biology techniques such as DNA, RNA extraction, and PCR.
Applied / assessed at a later date
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic plant pathology. Knowledge of basic molecular biology.
Language requirements (essential for the job)
May be applied / assessed at a later date
- Experience: Experience following, developing, and documenting protocols for infection with various fungal pathogens and disease rating.
- Experience working with fungal plant diseases, preferably biotrophic pathogens, in lab and greenhouse environments.
