| What we are looking for
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with members of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President, Finance & Procurement plays a key strategic role in supporting the future state of the organization in areas of strategic financial modeling and analysis, funding and pricing. This role oversees Payments Canada’s financial planning and analysis, accounting and procurement functions and supports the planning and execution of key member and stakeholder workshops and events and conducting key team management and reporting activities to support daily operations.
| A day in the life
Your responsibilities as the Vice President of Finance and Procurement will include but are not limited to:
Strategic Planning and Financial Management:
- Ensure an appropriate funding strategy is in place.
- Accountable for the budget process, including the reporting on budgets and forecasts to internal management, the Board of Directors and members as needed.
- Monitoring and analyzing financial data and producing financial reports in support of Payments Canada’s financial governance requirements.
- Leading continuous improvement projects and contributing to corporate projects that require financial insight or pose financial implications.
Accounting and Treasury Operations:
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department Oversee the treasury management function, including day to day management of corporate credit agreements.
- Overseeing, coordinating and completing year-end audits for financial and pension statements.
- Preparing and presenting financial reports for various external stakeholders groups as well as the board of directors.
- Maintaining a sound internal control framework for preparing financial information.
- Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Procurement Oversight:
- Developing and operationalizing the procurement function strategy.
- Leading the development and maintenance of the procurement management programs.
Governance and Stakeholder Management:
- Leading the review, amendment suggestions, and ensuring finance bylaws remain fit for purpose.
- Leading the partnership with the Total Rewards Manager on the Pension Committee.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to meet ongoing and project-based requirements.
| What you need to be successful
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience, including effectively leading teams in the realm of finance, accounting or related fields.
- Achievement of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, showcasing comprehensive expertise in accounting and auditing practices and standards.
- Ex cellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to develop briefings, presentations and effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences including board members.
- Travel outside the Toronto and Ottawa areas will be required.
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks that will be carried out by Payments Canada, including criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education checks.

| Salary range
Based on qualifications and experience: $161,805 to $202,256.
