Who we need: Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, we are looking for a Vice-President, Finance to lead our finance and accounting team. This is a high-profile role that will help manage the growth of the company, with an emphasis on supporting the financial reporting, contributing to process improvement, automation and profitability. This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting and the development of internal control policies and procedures. This role will support the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Reporting to the Vice-President, Finance is the Controller, Manager of Financial Systems & Internal Control and a Purchasing Supervisor. The Vice-President, Finance will lead a high-caliber finance and accounting team, build scalable processes that leverage ERP systems, and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies to support continued growth. The success of the team is defined by their ability to adopt a strong partnering approach in working with leaders across the business to both instill trust in and help them to understand the financial results of the business. This role will work closely with the Vice-President, FP&A; Director, Treasury and Director, Student Finance. What you will do: - Develop and implement effective and efficient business and financial policies and procedures with an eye to continuous improvement - Oversee all sides of accounting operations including regular financial reporting including monthly internal reporting and annual year-end financial statements; ensure accounts are reconciled and reviewed on a monthly basis. - Responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements, quality and timeliness of financial reports and the adoption of accounting practices in compliance with IFRS - Completion of monthly business review materials and commentary, including the monthly reporting package to private equity stakeholders - Work closely with Director, Treasury to support cash flow forecasting and debt management - Prepare management response to Auditors’ recommendations in consultation with CFO, take corrective action where required. - Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies; prepare and submit financial reports; and coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audits and reviews of financial processes - Oversee the overall finance systems strategy, ensuring technology platforms, finance systems and data are developed and maintained to support the business in its strategic objectives - Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency and utilization of current systems - Build and maintain an annual financial and regulatory deliverables calendar - Uphold the integrity of financial practices, internal policies and all legislative requirements. - Act as a brand ambassador for the staff and faculty and promoting a positive corporate culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness and our core values What you bring: - 15+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting, including experience with budgeting and forecasting; with experience at a management level. - CPA designation, Bachelor's degree, or master’s degree, in a related discipli
