Division info:

The Landing Gear Market specializes in the design, qualification, manufacture and repair and overhaul of landing gears and flight critical components to a customer base that extends from the OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to the Operators in both the commercial and military markets.

Summary of position:

The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer is responsible to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Héroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.

Main responsibilities:

1. Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
2. Technically support manufacturing operations related to M&P: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
3. Act as a delegated M&PE approved by customer for all manufactured designated parts: manufacturing plan and process technique approval, as applicable.
4. Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils: meeting, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
5. High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent;
2. Minimum of four (4) years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace;
3. Expertise in landing gear materials and processes related, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes;
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
5. Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing.
