Position Summary
Join our collegial emergency medicine team in Williams Lake In our 24/7 ED, you’ll help manage approximately 22,000 visits per year. With a diverse range of cases and numerous procedural opportunities, you’ll collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.
In our ED, you’ll have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and residents as part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program. The medical community offers numerous opportunities to expand your scope of practice based on your interests.
Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is designed to develop leadership skills early in physicians' careers.
The CMH redevelopment project is underway, with plans to expand and upgrade hospital facilities by 2029, including an expanded emergency department, inpatient units, and specialized clinics. Learn more about Williams Lake’s communities here.
If you have your CCFP, CCFP (EM), or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine, we want to hear from you. Emergency experience is an asset, and mentorship is available for all levels of experience, including international medical graduates.

Qualifications
- You’ll hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
- If you have, or are eligible for, your CCFP (EM), CCFP with emergency experience, or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine, we encourage you to apply.
- If you’re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in emergency medicine, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.
- To practice medicine here, you’ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
