Senior Messaging Specialist

This role supports a large cloud platform and messaging environment that enables modern collaboration and secure communication across the organization. The position focuses on implementing, managing, and improving Microsoft 365–based services such as Exchange Online, MS Teams, Defender, and Purview. The specialist will handle incident resolution, change requests, service improvements, and provide architectural input for messaging and cloud solutions.
The role requires strong analytical skills, hands‑on technical expertise, and a deep understanding of IT change management, user acceptance testing, and enterprise‑level cloud infrastructure. Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities are essential.
Tasks
Scope & Responsibilities
The Senior Messaging Specialist will be responsible for supporting a fully integrated cloud and messaging environment. Key responsibilities include:
Messaging & Cloud Platform Support
- Provide operational support for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, MS Teams, Defender, Purview, and related cloud workloads.
- Fulfill tickets for incidents, service requests, and change management tasks within defined service level targets.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to messaging infrastructure, software, and hardware components.
Service Improvements & Optimization
- Review new service and technology requests, evaluating impact on operational environments.
- Recommend improvements for configuration, performance, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Support ongoing enhancement initiatives for cloud‑based communication platforms.
Systems Planning & Architecture Support
- Contribute to planning activities such as task lists, estimates, schedules, and resource needs.
- Assist in architectural deployment activities and solution implementations.
- Analyze current services and recommend remediation plans when necessary.
Documentation & Governance
- Develop and maintain clear documentation, including technical procedures, configurations, and process guidelines.
- Produce messaging‑related procedures and quality control documentation.
- Provide regular reporting and time tracking for work progress.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams, leadership, and application stakeholders.
- Provide cross‑training and knowledge transfer to team members.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services: Exchange Online, Teams, Defender, Purview.
- Hands‑on experience with messaging infrastructure configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of workstation/server hardware, deployment strategies, and enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with change management and UAT frameworks.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
