About this Role
We are seeking an Investment Associate to join our dedicated deal team. The successful candidate will play a key role in analyzing and executing investments in European scale-ups that focus on energy transition and other climate-positive sectors. This role involves rigorous financial work and clear ownership in parts of the investment process. The Investment Associate will support the full investment process from screening to closing and perform a variety of tasks including building financial models, preparing investment memoranda, and coordinating due diligence processes. Working closely with management teams, the role also involves assessing climate impact and supporting various portfolio activities. SevenGen provides a unique development opportunity to join a pioneering impact investment fund. The role offers exposure to the full investment process with a pathway to take on full deal responsibility. Compensation is competitive, with a base salary and performance-based bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Support the full investment process from screening to closing.
- Build and analyze financial models and valuations.
- Prepare investment memoranda and transaction documentation.
- Coordinate due diligence processes and lead selected workstreams.
- Liaise with external advisors (legal, financial, impact).
- Conduct market and competitor analyses.
- Work directly with founders and management teams on analytical deep dives.
- Assess and analyze the climate impact of potential investments.
- Integrate impact insights into due diligence and investment cases.
- Support portfolio monitoring and reporting, including impact metrics.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in M&A, private equity, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of due diligence and key legal documents.
- Fluent in English.
- Genuine interest in combining climate impact with financial performance.
- International mindset, with exposure in Scandinavia or Germany preferred.
- Additional Northwest European language skills are a plus.
