Position Overview:

The Production Associate works in assigned groups performing a variety of semi-skilled assembly, production and production related work in a manufacturing environment. This position will require a two or three shift rotation as defined by the production schedule.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Operates production equipment through a variety of physical tasks, which results in a defect free automotive structural component.
- Actively participates in the development and achievement of team quality goals and objectives, actively works to meet production goals and achieve equipment cycle time requirements. continuous improvement ideas and projects, and environmental objectives and targets.
- Follows established Quality Procedures, Environmental Procedures and applicable Operator Instructions in the production of the part.
- May be required to demonstrate and/or instruct other team members on a variety of processes, tasks, equipment operation, rules, procedures or general company information as part of the initial orientation of a new team member.
- Fully complies with all safety rules and procedures and wears personal protective equipment.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a safe operating condition, reporting any hazards which are not immediately correctable.
- Participates in preventative and regular maintenance, as well as troubleshooting activities associated with the cell at the direction and discretion of the Team Leader.
- Shares responsibility with other team members for the creation, implementation and evaluation of continuous improvement ideas and projects.
- Ensures that working areas are kept clean and tidy in accordance with Company 5S housekeeping standards.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Comply with company policies, procedures & instructions supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.

Qualifications:

- Ability to work rotating shifts – days, afternoons, midnights
- Physical ability sufficient to competently perform the essential elements of the job
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Successful completion of high school / GED or college education is an asset
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and methods acquired through some prior industry or related experience.
