Job Description and Accountabilities

1. Support the risk appetite of the bank, by providing guidance within the Market Risk FRTB team with respect to the analysis and reporting, while escalating issues in a timely manner.
2. Effectively challenge, propose and champion projects to improve efficiencies, in order to provide more effective business support.
3. Understand system and model changes, its results, and impacts, to our market risk capital processes. Take ownership and challenge process designs to effectively and efficiently deliver changes.
4. Establish appropriate review and assessment of the quality of outputs based on business standards. Foster an environment which allows the team to escalate matters effectively and efficiently to mitigate risk, while adhering to Market Risk standards and Process Risk and Controls Self-Assessments.
5. Support in identifying innovative opportunities and help drive these initiatives.
6. Evolve analytical and attribution capabilities and business knowledge, and develop skills required for today and future, while understanding, identifying and responding proactively to current and emerging risks.
7. Collaborate with business partners which includes, sharing knowledge and identifying opportunities to leverage complementary skills. Partner with our stakeholders to drive and support change and to assist in meeting the bank's objectives.
8. Develop and maintain a good understanding of the analytical principles underlying the new capital requirement in FRTB, including issues that arise regarding modeling of financial instruments and risk factors.
9. Help facilitate leadership, direction, advice and empowerment of the team, alongside management. Develop analysts through cross-training, indirect coaching (Leading by example) and acting as the go-to person for daily processes and ad-hoc tasks.
10. Work alongside management during the recruitment process. Help identify high caliber candidates that will integrate successfully within the team.

1. Relevant industry, liquidity or risk management experience and/or accreditation.
2. Ability to develop and mentor individuals within the team, through cross-training.
3. Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex environment through excellent judgement.
4. Strong communication (written & verbal) and inter-personal skills to facilitate working with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
5. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
6. Proactive and highly motivated individual, who enjoys process improvements and is willing to take and manage initiatives.
7. An independent thinker, who is able to learn and adapt quickly, while taking initiative to capitalize on opportunities, or minimize problems.
8. An enthusiastic, positive and cooperative individual who can work independently and function well in a team environment.
9. Strong conceptual skills and attention to detail.
10. High level of commitment to quality work.
11. Good understanding of risk management, governance compliance and controls practices.
12. Experience with Market Risk measurement and reporting including concepts such as: VaR, Stress Testing and FRTB.
13. Knowledge of financial instruments, regulations and market risk metrics, gained through academic study, or practical experience.
14. Strong understanding of Regulatory and Compliance environment.
15. Risk, Valuations and/or reporting systems knowledge is an asset.
16. Proficient with Microsoft applications.
17. Programming skillsets such as VBA, Python, SQL is an asset to develop, modify and continually improve the risk management infrastructure used to capture and analyze risk.
18. Undergraduate or graduate degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or other quantitative disciplines.
19. Pursuit or completion of CFA/FRM is an asset.
