The Opportunity

What You Will Do

As Associate Director of Data Access & Integration, you’ll lead the team responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that connects our SaaS platform with external systems. You’ll own the API portal, data extraction tools, and integration frameworks that enable clients to leverage our platform data in their own environments.

You’ll manage a team of data engineers and integration specialists, ensuring they deliver secure, scalable, and developer‑friendly solutions that meet enterprise‑grade standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and integration specialists focused on API development, data extraction, and client‑facing integrations

- Own the roadmap and execution for our API portal, including developer experience, documentation, authentication, monitoring, and performance optimization

- Design and implement robust data extraction frameworks and APIs (RESTful, webhooks, batch) that enable clients to integrate securely and efficiently

- Establish and enforce API governance standards, versioning strategies, and security protocols in compliance with regulatory requirements

- Partner with product, client success, and data architecture teams to translate integration requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Monitor usage patterns and adoption metrics to drive continuous improvement and inform strategic decisions

Essential Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, API development, or integration architecture, with 2+ years managing technical teams

- Proven experience building and scaling API programs in SaaS or financial services environments
- Strong expertise in RESTful API design, authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and API management platforms (Apigee, Kong, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management)

- Proficiency in building data extraction pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern ETL frameworks

- Deep understanding of cloud‑native architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and security best practices

- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business stakeholders

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent experience

Salary

The expected salary for this position is $130K to $160K CAD and is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity. We will consider your skills, experience, and location when determining your pay.
