Essential Responsibilities

- Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of a single complex commercial construction project to completion.

- Ensure that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes while ensuring that safety regulations are strictly followed.

- Actively participate in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning.

- Work collaboratively with safety personnel to ensure adherence to Ledcor's Corporate safety programs and policies.

- Ensure all projects follow Ledcor's Construction Operations Manual and lead the development of the Project Quality Program (PQP), ensuring PEP conformance.

- Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays, and lead solution development.

- Promote the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes.

- Oversee the care and maintenance of internal and rental equipment on projects to maximize use while on the job sites and return equipment to storage or the rental company when no longer required.

- Participate in the hiring and managing of hourly employees as required, and maintain, approve, and submit hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes.

- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants to ensure client needs are met and ensure future business opportunities.

- Support and promote Ledcor's core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability, and success.

Qualifications

- 8+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position or similar with demonstrated ability to successfully lead a high-performing team and build solid long-term relationships with external clients and consultants.

- Experience managing construction projects within high-rise residential, mass timber, healthcare, data centers, aircraft hangars, aviation warehousing facilities, and other complex projects.

- Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry-related trade certification/education.

- Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management.

- Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices, and contract negotiations.

- Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development.

- Ability to anticipate problems and challenges while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives.

- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

- Site-based position in Brampton, Ontario.

- Valid driver's license and clean abstract.
