Vancouver, Canada Humanoid Full time

Humanoid is the first AI and robotics company in the UK, creating the world’s most advanced, reliable, commercially scalable, and safe humanoid robots. Our first humanoid robot HMND 01 is a next-gen labour automation unit, providing highly efficient services across various use cases, starting with industrial applications.

Our Mission

At Humanoid we strive to create the world’s leading, commercially scalable, safe, and advanced humanoid robots that seamlessly integrate into daily life and amplify human capacity.

Vision

In a world where artificial intelligence opens up new horizons, our faith in its potential unveils a new outlook where, together, humans and machines build a new future filled with knowledge, inspiration, and incredible discoveries. The development of a functional humanoid robot underpins an era of abundance and well-being where poverty will disappear, and people will be able to choose what they want to do. We believe that providing a universal basic income will eventually be a true evolution of our civilization.

Solution

As the demands on our built environment rise, labour shortages loom. With the world’s workforce increasingly moving away from undesirable tasks, the manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries critical to our daily lives are left exposed. By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.

About the Role

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) on the TPM team, you’ll be accountable for the cross-functional planning and predictable execution of Humanoid’s aggressively-paced robot development programs and supporting projects. Engineering development and leadership at Humanoid is a tightly coordinated effort among multiple contributing offices including Vancouver, Boston, and London. This role is physically located in Vancouver but performs program management spanning all sites. Periodic travel to those other sites is expected. This role is a unique opportunity to have a big impact.

What You’ll Do

- Comprehensively plan the program, accountable for scope, schedule, cost, and process. - Track and motivate program and project progress end-to-end, coordinating many teams and sites to predictably execute the plan
- Proactively anticipate risks, put handling plans in place, and manage them actively
- Empathize with, partner with, negotiate with, and manage stakeholders. Use tactful and effective approaches to achieve alignments and secure commitments
- Urgently identify, prioritize, and clear blockers
- Establish efficient, effective, clear, timely program communication optimised for the very real challenges of collaboration across distances, cultures, and timezones. Your communication is tailored to the audience.
- Based on situational judgment, manage at various levels between strategic and detailed
- Using systems thinking, perspective, and technical judgment: bring clarity, prioritization, and guidance to teams
- Roll up your sleeves and enthusiastically chip in wherever it may be needed for success of the program. At Humanoid, we’re all in this together.
- Never settling for the status quo, continually improve our program management ways of working
- Demonstrate through your actions how you meaningfully contribute to the team’s success – establishing strong enduring influence across the program team and its stakeholders.

We’re Looking For

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field relevant to robotics
- 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience leading hardware-heavy new product introduction, including explicitly serving as project or program manager
- Engineering industry experience developing scalably-manufacturable hardware solutions using scalable engineering processes
- A toolkit of multiple project management methodologies
- A track record creating structure and paths through ambiguity
- Organized, self-directed, able to juggle many complex threads
- Efficiency with your own time and your use of teammates’’ time
- Seriously excellent synch and asynch communication skills
- Natural team leadership skills
- Calm and articulate demeanor under pressure, including with executive audiences
