We are seeking a hands-on technologist passionate about modern Java development to join our Sanctions suite of applications team. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying Java-based systems to support evolving business needs and architectural enhancements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of collaborating effectively with global teams to deliver scalable, high-performance applications. Financial domain knowledge and familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Customer Risk Ranking methodologies are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications following SDLC standards.

- Support both existing and new initiatives within the Sanctions suite, including system enhancements and infrastructure improvements.

- Collaborate with global teams to analyze complex business requirements and design appropriate solutions.

- Ensure code quality, performance, and scalability through best practices and continuous integration.

- Participate in Agile development practices including Scrum, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD).

- Work with technologies including Java, Spring, Angular, Apache/Tomcat, Hadoop, and DB2.

- Develop integrations with vendor and open-source Java technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, and Apache libraries.

Required Skills

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Core Java and advanced Java/Spring Boot development.

- Expertise in RESTful and SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON, and object-oriented and functional programming concepts.

- Strong experience with relational databases (SQL, DB2) including query tuning.

- Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps tools.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, collaborative mindset.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Microservices architecture and SOA design principles.

- Ability to read and create design and process flow diagrams.

- Working knowledge of Linux, Shell scripting (Perl, Python, etc.).

- Front-end experience with Angular UI (preferred but not required).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
