Overview

n biomachines, based in Burlington, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC Mill & CNC Lathe (DN Solutions Doosan Puma 2600 SY II)
- Create CNC programs with MasterCam, and edit as required
- Understand and interpret engineered drawings and sketches
- Receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English
- Operate other equipment as required (includes conventional)
- Use various monitoring and measuring devices and instrumentation
- Maintain good housekeeping and organizational skills
- Work well with others

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of practical hands-on machining experience
- Experience using DN Solutions Doosan Puma 2600 SY II – Lathe required
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages
- Solid mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using various machining tools and equipment
- Proficiency with MasterCam is required
- Strong blueprint reading skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills, work ethic, and a positive attitude
- Must have experience with tight tolerances
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs from time to time
- Previous experience operating forklifts is beneficial but not mandatory
- Available to work shifts as needed
