In the Data Analyst role, you will become proficient in our software products and assist customers with their asset management and planning analytics challenges, while also promoting user engagement. Our Customer Success team is dedicated to crafting and executing technical solutions to maximize the value clients gain from ENGIN™. As a Data Analyst, you'll support this mission by handling data management tasks that aid client-facing team members, including Solutions Consultants and Project Managers.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analysis, or equivalent relevant experience in a related discipline. Example related disciplines are Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Math, or similar fields.
- 2+ years experience in the power utility industry or in a similar engineering-focused data analytics role.
- Candidate will work in collaboration with our Solutions Consultants to ingest and analyze asset registry, health, costing, reliability, and failure data and will prepare data templates to configure ENGIN™.
- Experience working with large data sets.
- Experience with different tools such as, but not limited to, MS Excel, PowerBI, Python, etc.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. Ability to create professional documents to capture requirements, explain solutions, data manipulations, and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to analyze complex processes and workflows, break them down into simpler visualizations, identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and propose solutions to optimize the stages of the workflow.
- A self-starter, comfortable working with complex systems, eager to take on a wide range of responsibilities, independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate discipline, high attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, and preference for a work environment that embraces and capitalizes on change.
- Enjoy reviewing, analyzing, cleaning, and transforming data as per requirements articulated by Solutions Consultants.
- Experience with Enterprise Asset Management, GIS, CMMS, AIP, ERP, and/or network simulation softwares is particularly valuable.
- Experience with software project management schedules/concepts (e.g., Scrum/Agile).
Responsibilities:
- Support Solutions Consultants in the preparation of data templates to configure ENGIN™ to meet customer needs (i.e., interpretation, analysis, cleansing, and management of customer data)
- Collaborate with Solutions Consultants to understand detailed data requirements and the associated customer needs.
- Analyze, cleanse, and transform data to prepare data templates using a variety of tools in accordance with data requirements and project schedules.
- Identify and communicate any data related gaps, quality issues, or deficiencies discovered.
- Collaborate with Solutions Consultants to strategize and rectify data deficiencies.
- Review and interpret client data to gain an understanding of industry practices and concepts (e.g., asset management systems, inspection/testing data, condition assessment, failure analysis, investment planning, etc.).
- Complete key deliverables including source-to-target mapping, documentation of business rules and ETL processes, producing data flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with Solutions Consultants to configure data templates.
- Support the product testing and user acceptance testing process by completing test cases as per internal standards.
- Complete data analysis tasks to support the development of new product features.
- Contribute to the development of reusable assets, repeatable workflows, and process improvements with respect to data management tasks to support the development of standardized processes.
- Stay educated on new and emerging technologies, patterns, methodologies, and tools to support data management tasks (e.g., analysis techniques, software, etc.).
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders when engaged on projects. Ability to communicate with clients to understand their needs, foster a collaborative environment, and build trust.
