Senior Superintendent, Building Construction

You are a seasoned Senior Superintendent with over 10 years of field operations experience working in multi-disciplinary large-scale, commercial projects. You will lead a team of superintendents for a complex ICI project, ensuring company policies and procedures for safety, scheduling, budget, quality control and client satisfaction are met, while using industry knowledge and experience to drive long-term objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Oversees and manages multiple superintendents to ensure the successful delivery of a single complex commercial construction project to completion.
2. Ensures that superintendents are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes while ensuring that safety regulations are strictly followed.
3. Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning.
4. Works collaboratively with safety personnel to ensure adherence to Ledcor's Corporate safety programs and policies.
5. Ensures all projects follow Ledcor's Construction Operations Manual and lead the development of the Project Quality Program (PQP), ensuring PEP conformance.
6. Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development.
7. Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes.
8. Oversees the care and maintenance of internal and rental equipment on projects to maximize use while on the job sites and returns equipment to storage or the rental company when no longer required.
9. Participates in the hiring and managing of hourly employees as required, and maintains, approves, and submits hourly timecards with all necessary details for job costing purposes.
10. Participates in strategic planning meetings with branch to coordinate the movement of superintendents and hourly site staff (both Forepersons and trades) to projects and future proposals for the branch and other Ledcor branches.
11. Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants to ensure client needs are met and ensure future business opportunities.
12. Supports and promotes Ledcor's core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success.

Qualifications

1. 10+ years of construction experience in a Senior Superintendent position or similar with demonstrated ability to successfully lead a high-performing team and build solid long-term relationships with external clients and consultants.
2. Experience managing construction projects within healthcare, data centers, aircraft hangars, aviation warehousing facilities, and other complex ICI projects.
3. Combination of work experience in a similar role and industry related trade certification/education.
4. Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations.
5. Superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management.
6. Excellent organizational, planning skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
7. Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations.
8. Expertise in coaching and developing team members through constructive feedback and providing opportunities for development.
9. Ability to anticipate problems and challenges, while providing leadership in creating innovative solutions to achieve organizational objectives.

Working Conditions

1. Site based role.
