About the Job:
- Design efficient DSP algorithms for coherent optical communication systems, optimizing for both implementation complexity and performance.
- Contribute to the development of end-to-end simulation platforms and perform verification and impairment analysis.
- Design and execute laboratory experiments to validate DSP algorithms and optical system performance.
- Collaborate closely with ASIC, system, and test teams to drive specifications and ensure smooth implementation.
- Perform hands-on optical component characterization and system performance testing using instruments such as optical spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, RF test equipment, and optical amplifiers.
About the ideal candidate:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, or Physics, with experience in high-speed communication systems.
- Strong background in optical systems and DSP algorithms.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, TCL, or Julia.
- Demonstrated experimental and laboratory experience in optical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a cross-disciplinary team.
