The Associate Legal Counsel provides legal advice and services that proactively support Day & Ross Inc.’s business strategy and operations.

How You'll Help:

- Research and provide legal advice and opinion in all areas of business law, particularly: litigation, employment, contractual, corporate taxes, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structure issues, government reporting and general corporate commercial law.
- Stay on top of legal developments, recognizing how and when they could affect business and proactively bringing such matters to the attention of appropriate senior officials.
- Research, prepare and edit required legal documentation to support business transactions.
- Engage and manage external counsel to support larger, more complex files or as required.
- Other related duties and/or responsibilities as required.

Your Skills & Experience:

- J.D./ LL.B and admission to the bar in a Canadian jurisdiction.
- Additional training and courses in corporate law an asset.
- 3-5 years experience practicing law; corporate or commercial experience preferred.
- A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and exceptional written communication skills.
- Attention to detail with ability to prepare and proofread legal documents.
- Motivated, self-starter.
- Ability to work productively under pressure.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Conceptual and creative problem-solving skills for a business environment.
- French language skills considered a strong asset.
