Overview

Agilus is recruiting for a Junior Cost Estimator in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta. This candidate will work on all Development & Manage Projects (D&MP) stage (AACEI Class 1 to 5) estimates. Estimators understand high level / quantity based estimate process, can assist in development of all components of estimate (direct, indirect, engineering, project management, completions & commissioning, escalation and contingency).

Typical Day

- Support development of all types of estimates for individual D&MP stage under supervision
- Analyze / compare various components and metrics with internal / external benchmarks
- Support end-to-end estimating process
- Assist in development of estimate and benchmarking preparation plan to estimate basis, presentations
- Assist in developing benchmarking bundles for various D&MP stages
- Attend all corporate required training courses as deemed necessary for the position
- Be willing to travel to a site location (overnight) as needed

Qualifications

- 2 to 5 years of experience in preparing cost estimates for industrial projects
- Technical diploma or University degree
- Exposure to field construction activities for industrial projects
- Awareness of Aspen-tech (k-Base) estimating software will be an asset
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Power BI)
