Athabasca University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is recruiting for an Academic Coordinator, Psychology.

This is a part-time (0.2FTE) term position July 1, 2025 to July 2, 2026.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a diverse range of courses and programs in education, distance education, humanities, interdisciplinary studies, and social sciences.

The Position:

The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the teaching, administration, and maintenance of Athabasca University's EDPY/PSYC 469 (Psychological Assessment) and PSYC 365 (Behaviour Modification). Coordinator duties include supervising and monitoring the performance of course tutors (who teach and consult with students and mark their assignments), handling student issues as they are brought forward by students, tutors, or the institution (e.g. grade appeals, course credit challenges, academic misconduct cases, transfer credit requests), and service to the Centre for Social Sciences (e.g. attending meetings held by the Centre and by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences).

Qualifications:

Athabasca University is hiring an academic coordinator with expertise in Psychology. A minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology or cognate field (e.g., Neuroscience) is required; a PhD is preferred. Experience in distance learning and familiarity with digital teaching technologies would also be preferred assets.
