We are looking for an Team Lead, Accounts Payable to join our Finance & Accounting team in Montreal and who will share our Company values.

What You'll Be Contributing:

1. Reporting to the Manager, the Team Lead, Accounts Payable is responsible for the oversight of the Accounts Payable team to ensure efficient payment processes for the organization.
2. Team leadership for AP team: reviewing, training, coaching, moral building; timely and accurate processes.
3. Oversight of vendor set-up: compliance with new vendor internal controls, ensuring accurate set-up for group set, account set, tax group, payment terms, and banking/payment information.
4. Oversight of AP team data entry of invoice information, ensuring invoices appropriately approved, entering into the accounting system, and ensuring appropriate coding, pricing, and compliance to expenditure policies.
5. Accurate preparation of invoice batches to be paid, manage payment runs, including cheques, EFTs, bill payments, wire transfers, and credit cards.
6. Record management of AP function: organize retention of documentation for quick reference and audit support.
7. Client support: timely and professional follow-up with internal clients and vendors for all queries including late or missing payments.
8. Process improvement to streamline activities, improve efficiencies, reduce missed or late payments, complete process documentation.
9. Complete month end procedures for accounts payable sub ledger and general ledger reconciliation.
10. Handling bank transactions: process and prepare bill payment, inter transfer and ACH payment in bank.
11. Audit working files: prepare and maintain monthly working files for AP Aging, Accrued Liabilities, AP clearing Account and other Accounts Payable related continuity schedule.
12. Apply organizational policies regarding inclusivity to content, member communication and customer service.
13. Other duties as assigned.

What Sets You Apart:

1. Post secondary education in finance or accounting.
2. Demonstrated experience in the full procure to pay lifecycle.
3. Previous experience managing a team is an asset.
4. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the accounts payable function.
5. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite.
