Instrumentation and Controls Engineer III

Agilus is recruiting for an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer III in the Oil and Gas sector in Calgary, Alberta. Join a major energy project focused on CCS and SAGD technologies. As an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer III, you’ll play a key role in evaluating engineering work, driving contractor performance, and ensuring alignment with project specifications and regulatory standards.

Typical day:

- Evaluate internal and contractor engineering work for compliance and quality.

- Facilitate execution of discipline engineering and design routines.

- Analyze maintenance records and instrument failure rates.

- Develop and execute process control surveillance programs.

- Perform control logic updates and loop tuning.

- Conduct criticality assessments and develop maintenance strategies.

- Ensure timely communication across project and company teams.

- Support cross-cultural collaboration and remote team management.

Successful candidates will have:

- Licensed APEGA Engineer, with 8+ years of experience.

- Experience representing the company on major projects.

- Strong background in EPC environments and contractor management.

- Familiarity with Honeywell control and automation systems.

- Knowledge of instrumentation including analyzers, emissions monitoring, custody transfer, and CO2 metering.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, Excel Analytics, and Tableau.

Total rewards:

- $90.00 - $100.00 hourly.

- Potential for contract extension based on project timeline.

- Minimal travel requirements.
