As a full-time (FTE) / dedicated Ford of Canada Communications team member, through National Public Relations, the Communications Associate role will contribute to Ford's transformation and the company's future vision. This position is project-oriented and will challenge you to demonstrate strategic thinking, business acumen and technical skills.
This is a hybrid work arrangement at Ford of Canada headquarters in Oakville, ON.
Assignment areas for the Communications Associate role include:
- Enterprise Storytelling, inclusive of:
- Ford Model e Communications – focused on shaping the future of EVs
- Ford Blue Communications – focused on iconic ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles
- Ford Pro Communications – supporting Ford's industry-leading commercial vehicle business
- Media Fleet Management and Administration
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience in Brand and/or Corporate Communications
- Relevant educational background (Bachelor's Degree or Post-Graduate) in communications, public relations, journalism, media studies/media relations, marketing, or advertising
Preferred Qualifications
- Project and program management skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Initiative to deliver high-quality work that produces impactful results
- Strong writing, editing, reporting and verbal communications skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables concurrently
- Strong proficiency in digital and social media tools
- News reporting or editing experience
- Ability to develop innovative approaches to engaging audiences
- A self-starter with the ability to balance strategic thinking with plan development and execution
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with colleagues with diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Automotive industry knowledge and demonstrated media relations experience is an asset
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
