Hexagon Smartplant Information Management System Support Specialist (SDx/SPF)

Location – Mississauga, ON

Responsibilities

- Support the administration and implementation of Hexagon SDx and Smart Foundation systems in a project environment, including user support, project support, SDx and SPF project administration (maintenance, customization, integration with other software, software upgrades).
- Perform system-level activities to support the above software, including: set up and monitor application backup, scheduled tasks, batch services, internal development, and managing user access.
- Participate in software certification, User Acceptance Testing, Requests For Change, and delivery processes; communicate issues to developers and software vendors as needed.
- Configure, test and deploy SPF and SDx for new projects; maintain mapping between SPF and design tools (SPID, S3D, SEL, SI) for data publish and retrieve.
- Maintain SDx configurations (schema, data capture, workflows, report generation, MDR) and support integrations with other Hexagon or third-party software.
- Resolve software configuration issues and manage Hexagon support tickets for SPF and SDx.
- Liaise with external vendors and IT developers to investigate problems, receive assistance with hardware and peripheral malfunctions, or coordinate releases.
- Train users in SPF and SDx and provide day-to-day support; support and maintain Engineering Tools development and certification servers.
- Collaborate with other IT areas (Data Centre, infrastructure services) to investigate, escalate requests, or seek advice on technical support issues related to Applications Development, Data Centre and Infrastructure Services.
- Liaise with Developers, Engineering staff and Chief Designer to define and implement enhancements.
- Possess knowledge of Intel hardware platforms and Windows operating system; support the engineering applications for which the branch is responsible.
- Investigate, assess and resolve issues related to hardware and software problems; demonstrate initiative and results-oriented performance.

The ideal candidate

- Preferred College Diploma in a related technology from an accredited institution and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of SPF mapping with SPID, S3D, SEL, SI.
- 5+ years of SDx experience including schema mapping, workflows configuration, data capture, user management, etc.
- Capable of supporting the Engineering applications for which the branch is responsible.
- Ability to investigate, assess and resolve issues related to hardware and software problems.
- Good verbal, written, organizational and presentation skills; ability to interface effectively with staff, project management team, and internal clients.
- Demonstrate initiative and results-oriented performance.
