Energy & Climate Innovation Lead (TERM to March 31, 2028)
Department of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, Located in Nunavut.
Under the direction of the Manager of Climate Change; as a member of the climate team within the Department of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, the position will support NTI’s advocacy efforts and projects related to housing, infrastructure, energy and economic development through a climate change lens, as well as contribute to the development and implementation of the Nunavut Inuit Climate Action Plan and Process (NICAPP). The Energy and Climate Innovation Lead will support the Manager of Climate Change in overseeing NTI’s climate change initiatives and supports core elements of NTI’s mandate.
To be invited for an interview you must have:
- A university degree in a related field OR college diploma with 2 years’ experience in a project management/similar role, OR 5 years’ experience in a project management/similar role combined with experience in the energy sector in Nunavut.
- Minimum of 10 years living in Nunavut.
- Can demonstrate knowledge of Inuit Culture, of the land within their region, and have a deep interest in climate change and the environment around them (minimum years in NU can be waived if proponent is Inuk).
- Self‑motivated, independent, reliable, and dependable work ethic, experience collaborating in team environments with diverse perspectives, demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to Inuit issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- The ability to speak Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun or willingness to learn is a requirement.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $109,115.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) and a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.
Housing allowance of $35,865.00
