**Job Description/Responsibilities of the Cook**:
- Create and prepare meals according to the Canadian Food Guide
- Ensure proper food storage and rotation procedures are followed.
- Prepare daily healthy snacks and meals ensuring food restrictions and allergies.
- Prepare daily lunch according to menu, class size and dietary food guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize dishes daily and prep for next day.
- Ensure the kitchen equipment and appliances are thoroughly cleaned on a daily, monthly and seasonal basis.
- Maintain food inventory and familiarity with GFS food service ordering.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Food Handling Certificate.
- Experienced working as a cook is an asset.
- Experience preparing meals and snacks in a daycare setting is an asset.
- Experience with baking and organic meal prep
**Must have**:
- Criminal/Vulnerable sector check
- Up to date Immunization Record including the TB Test
- Valid First Aid and CPR C
