BBA is a national, employee-owned multi-disciplinary engineering and services firm with offices coast-to-coast, in the US and abroad. We have an established Power & Renewables business line which comprises of Power Advisory & Asset Management, Transmission & Distribution (T&D), Wind & Solar, Storage, Hydropower and Industrial Power groups. We wish to strengthen our position in the Power Advisory & Asset Management (PAAM) group and Power Markets segment across Canada. In this intermediate leadership role, the Manager
- Load Forecasting & Analytics will be responsible for driving the Asset Management & Performance services and products, as well as building and maintaining client relationships. In particular, this individual will be responsible for leading and continue to develop our Load Forecast and Asset Analytics services within the power utility market in North America. The suitable person will leverage their expertise, industry-knowledge, client relationships and engineering /data science experience to achieve our objectives.

**Job Responsibilities Include**:

- Lead the PAAM groups Load Forecasting Services, including delivery, SME support and continual improvement. This is focussed initially on the utility sector. Including the ability to develop tools that account for Energy Transition trends and triggers (e.g., EV/DER penetration, data centres)
- Develop models/tools to assist in the analysis of condition, forecasting and investment scenarios.
- Lead the PAAM groups Asset Analytics Services, including delivery, SME support and continual improvement.
- Supports the PAAM group in the selection of client engagement teams, development of engagement methodologies, work scheduling and workload balancing.
- Mentor junior staff and support the development of training materials and carries out formal and informal staff education, training, and mentorship sections.
- Lead projects within the Power Advisory & Asset Management team, including managed resource, schedule, budget and client expectations.
- Deliver on assigned marketing and sales of services.
- Responsible for contributing to the overall PAAM group strategic plan and key initiatives.
- Depending on your experience and career plans, this role could come with the need to manage a diverse and multi-skilled team on a day to day basis. This is separate to managing project teams. This would include being responsible for the performance and development of each team member.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of other Utility and Energy markets.
- Experience and knowledge in the development of load forecasts related to energy needs is a critical requirement.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, programming (i.e., Python), and machine learning are key technical requirements.
- Project management experience is required.
- Industry designation and/or continuous education are assets.

**Familiarity of products and services in some or all of the following areas is considered a critical requirement**:

- Data processing and data analytics products (Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI etc.)
- Asset Investment Planning and Asset Performance software products (e.g., Copperleaf C55 etc.)
- Enterprise Asset Management systems and systems of record and analytics available on the market (SAP, Maximo etc.)
- Utility and generation company regulation within the Region, both domestically within Canada as well as internationally
- Technologies and systems used by power system operators (SCADA, Metering management, GIS, CAD)

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor of Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Business, or similar post-secondary degree
- Minimum 8+ years’ experience
