VINCI School Ottawa is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Early Childhood Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners, fostering their growth and development through creative and innovative teaching methods while assisting the Vinci team with daily tasks outside of the classroom.

*This is a full-time position only

**Responsibilities**:
When working in the classroom, the Early Childhood Assistant must:

- Support the lead educator in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that cater to the needs and interests of children aged 18 months to 3 years.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Jointly with the lead educator, keep children safe and healthy, including enforcing classroom rules, changing diapers, cleaning up after meals etc.
- Engage actively with children during playtime, activities, and routines, promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Care for children (diaper change, clean up, etc)
- Assist in the preparation of materials, resources, and learning aids to support lesson plans and educational activities.

Outside of the classroom, the Early Childhood Assistant must:

- Assist team members with laundry and kitchen duties throughout the day

Qualifications:

- At least one year working in a childcare setting, preschool, or early childhood education program is preferred.
- Hard working and punctual
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- First Aid and CPR certification ( or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Clearance of criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Food Handlers Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
