Our program is looking for an Early Childhood Educator Assistant.

Our program is located in Centertown and provides care for toddler to preschool aged children. We are licensed with the Ministry of Education and provide child-family centered care with an appreciation for every child’s individual interests and development.

Early childhood educator assistants provide care for toddler and preschool children under the guidance of early childhood educators. Early childhood educators and assistants lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being. We support children’s natural learning and curiousity through observations. We develop programming based on these observations -recognizing and appreciating each child’s individual interests and abilities.

Early childhood educator assistants perform some or all of the following duties:

- Support early childhood educators in programming that supports the individual development of children
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Assist with eating, dressing and toileting
- Maintain childcare equipment and assist in housekeeping duties
- Attend staff meetings and professional development days
- May assist early childhood educators or supervisors in recording observations

Pay: $16.00/hour (plus $2.00 Wage Enhancement if approved)

After 3 month probation period: Health benefits and paid personal days

QUALIFICATIONS:
Current standard first aid certification with CPR-C
Current police reference check dated within past 6 months for working with the vulnerable sector
Proof of updated immunizations - including COVID boosters

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and ASSETS:

- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated creativity
- Knowledge and skills to perform all of the duties outlined in the job description

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather
- Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds and able to participate in all physical aspects of program

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $16.55-$18.55 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

- Monday to Friday
