General Description:
The O’Chiese Business Centre (OBC) is seeking a dynamic, motivated and adaptable individual who can maneuver comfortably within various business finance functions. O’Chiese is an ambitious, vibrant community located in beautiful Central Alberta with businesses located in Edmonton, Red Deer and within it’s home Community. This position will offer a competitive salary, a company vehicle, on-site rental housing and other generous benefits, including medical, dental, pension and holidays.

Role and Responsibilities:

- Drive the company’s financial planning
- Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
- Supervise all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Set up and oversee the company’s finance IT system
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
- Manage team of financial controllers and/or financial analysts.

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as CFO, finance officer or relevant role
- Previous work experience with an Indigenous organization is an asset
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
- Ability to strategize and effectively problem solve
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPA or CMA is an asset
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
- Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision

Must be bondable and be willing to go through a Criminal Record Check
