**Position Summary**

The Gear Centre Group of Companies comprises several well-established organizations with branches across Canada. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer who will play an active role in executing the company’s strategic and annual business plans.

**Key Accountabilities**

**Operational Effectiveness**
- Manages productivity, effectiveness and efficiency while implementing consistent business practices, processes and procedures across the organization
- Review and establish financial policies to support corporate best practices
- Ensure effective systems and process are in place to enable employees to optimize their financial contributions and performance
- Oversee financial analysis, proformas and strategic opportunity assessments
- Actively lead change with innovative solutions for enhancing services and organizational growth

**Strategic Leadership**
- As a key member of the leadership team, work to define the company’s operational, production and overall strategic objectives and to plan, manage and carry out a course of action to achieve these objectives
- Establish and implement short and long term objectives, policies and operational procedures

**Fiscal Accountability**
- Create, coordinate and evaluate financial programs and supporting information systems of the company including finance, accounting, inventory management, budgeting, tax planning, real estate and conversion of assets
- Analyze and maintain cash flows, cost controls, expenses and financial statements to pinpoint opportunities for efficiencies
- Assess financial performance and develop benchmarks for evaluating business unit performance
- Coordinate and compile annual operating and capital budgets that reflect the objectives, plans and priorities established in the strategic plan
- Ensure financial statements accurately represent the financial position of the company and it’s operations
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage is in place to protect the assets of the Company
- Oversee the IT Department and ensure the technology requirements support future growth
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and forecasts

- Understand the business lines, products, services and operations to help drive growth, expansion and continuous improvement initiatives of the Company
- Implement standardized processes and procedures for accounting and operational functions
- Work with the four General Managers to streamline, process and assist with pricing strategies

**The Individual**

**Education**
- A recognized accounting designation with a proven commitment to ongoing professional development

**Experience**
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
- Supply chain management experience is an asset
- Progressive leadership management experience

- Self-starter with a highly energetic, results oriented work style combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills with an ability to motivate and hold staff accountable for excellent results

- Strong leadership and team building skills with the ability to work in a consultative and collaborative manner.
