Autism Nova Scotia delivers programming in Halifax and in nine communities across Nova Scotia through our Regional Autism Centers. Our three program divisions are: Social & Community Inclusion; Employment Support; and Family and Caregiver Support.

**_About The Pearl _**

The Pearl was established in 2011 as the social enterprise operating within Autism Nova Scotia. The Pearl makes and sells a variety of jewellery and accessories. The sale of each item directly supports programs and services for Autistic individuals and their families across the province.

**SALES ASSOCIATE - THE PEARL**

**Term**:Part-time, 20 hours per week (Weekends)

**Start Date**:ASAP

**Position location**:Halifax, NS

**Salary**:$20 per hour

**_What will you be doing_**

The sales associate works with Autism Nova Scotia’s Social Enterprise, The Pearl. In this role The Sales Associate is an integral part of the overall success of the sales booth at the Halifax Seaport Market and community POP-UP’s related to The Pearl. The main goal is to generate revenue while providing exceptional customer service and sharing The Pearl’s Story.

You must have:
**Minimum qualifications**:

- A High School Diploma (or equivalent) or equivalent experience accepted
- A valid, clear criminal record check and child abuse registry search is required
- First aid and CPR certificate is considered an asset

**Minimum experience**:

- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)

**Minimum skills and ability**:

- Experience with understanding retail operation concepts such as maintaining store standards, cash handling, and merchandise presentation.
- Self-starter and uses good judgment in all situations.
- Excellent presentation skills in a retail environment.
- Upbeat, optimistic, passionate, and friendly.
- Ability to understand the needs of the customer
- Comfortable working in dynamic work environment, and in a variety of work settings.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
- Committed to the full inclusion of people with ASD, adherence to inclusionary practices in employment.
- Willing to travel through the HRM

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Reports to The Social Enterprise & Cause marketing Director.
- Displays a “customer comer first” attitude.
- Ensures that customer loyalty is built and maintained.
- Performs Point of sales transactions.
- Stays current on our product and service updates.
- Ensures sales booth is visually appealing to company standards through product presentation, replenishment, and visual displays.
- Available to work Saturday and Sundays.

**Essential and Other Related Job Duties**:

- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
