Position Description
Reporting to the DMHS Manager, the Coordinator Volunteers requires enthusiasm and commitment to the volunteer engagement strategy of the organization, while focusing on strengthening volunteer activities and increasing the impact of the DCD services.

**Responsibilities**:
Administrative Management
" Performs all relevant administrative functions including volunteer and client profiles, scheduling of volunteers, tracking hours of service, statistic and other reports as required.
" Become proficient in the icarol Distress Centre operating system.
" Monitoring of Distress Line activities, volunteer documentation of calls and reports, ensuring everyone maintains quality standards and risk mitigation responses are developed and shared for "high risk" caller profiles.
" Receive, review and process with volunteers all "Call Out" referrals.
" Assists in the development and preparation of volunteer materials including manuals, promotional flyers, orientation tools and training materials.

Volunteer Management
" Works in collaboration with the Volunteer Resources Team; communicating regularly and utilizing standard organizational processes, including recognition.
" Recruits appropriate volunteers for the call line role through general and targeted recruitment initiatives and utilizing internal and external strategies.
" Interviews and ensures completion of screening and general orientation of accepted volunteers.
" With the DCD Team, facilitates required role training and implement a peer mentor with all volunteers, ensuring scheduling, reporting and issue management processes are followed.
" Evaluates program and monitors volunteer, team and client satisfaction.
" Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:
" completion of post secondary diploma or degree in the social service filed *preferred
" enrollment/in-progress of completing diploma or degree in the social services field *required
" Certification in volunteer engagement or in progress is highly desired
" Past experience with a Help line and/or volunteer management is an asset
" Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
" Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
" Proficiency in MS Office (word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
