**Role**:Video Monitoring Operator

**Location**:Security Operations Centre
- Divisional Office
- Victoria
- HQ- 928 Cloverdale
- Victoria

**Shifts**: Sunday to Thursday: 00:00-08:00

**Reports to**:Live Video Monitoring Team Leader, Client Service Manager

**Wage**:$22.50 per hour. Advancement to $24.50 once experience threshold met. Plus RSP.

**As a Video Monitoring Operator, you'll find yourself at the heart of our commitment to safety and security**:

- Be the first line of defense, responding to intrusion alarms promptly using our Video Management Software (VMS) and established procedures.
- Deliver audio warnings to intruders; preventing crime before it takes place.
- Keep impeccable records of alarm events and actions taken in our monitoring software, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Execute accurate and timely dispatching of calls to the right emergency contacts as specified by our clients.
- Verify the functionality of customer hardware using our Video Management Software (VMS) and promptly report any equipment issues to management.
- Be ready to tackle other affiliated duties as needed, offering variety and growth.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Available to work flexible shifts when necessary (evening, overnight, weekend and/or statutory holiday shifts).
- Available to work on a rotating schedule.
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Fluent in English, written and spoken. Multilingual an asset but not necessary.
- Must have excellent written communication skills as well as a professional phone manner.
- Excellent customer service skills required with the ability to resolve conflict and problems. Be able to manage difficult customer situations.
- Experience in the security industry is an asset.
- Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills.
- Ability to operate individually as well as in a team.
- Strong computer skills, with an ability to learn new software programs quickly. Prior experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word an asset
- Must be punctual.
- Must have or be willing to complete Basic Security Training (BST)
- Must pass a criminal background check and obtain a Government of British Columbia Guard License.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance.
