**Your role**

CBC Indigenous is a dynamic and creative online community with a goal to engage with and reflect the diverse Indigenous audiences across the country and deepen understanding and conversation for all Canadians. You are a creative, strong critical thinker who has in-depth knowledge of Indigenous stories and issues. You will be expected to produce original journalism, write stories for online platforms and deliver content to television and radio broadcasts. You must demonstrate and maintain exceptional skills in writing in a clear and concise manner.

In this role, you will ensure that all CBC journalistic standards are met and that our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful, immediate and resonate with the communities we serve.

**Please note this posting is for one full time permanent role that is based in Winnipeg**.

- Deep knowledge and/or connection to Indigenous communities in Manitoba.
- Strong desire to live and promote the values of diversity and an inclusive and respectful work culture.
- Working knowledge of digital news including social media.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong team player.
- Ability to generate original, enterprise journalism.
- Ability to cultivate and develop working relationships with a large pool of sources and contacts.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to develop and break stories, plan features and coordinate long-term coverage.
- Flexibility with hours of work and willingness to learn and take on new tasks across all CBC platforms.
- Ability to report for all media platforms is an asset.
- A valid driver’s licence as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company.
- At least 3 years experience in journalism preferred.
- University degree or equivalent with a minimum of three years relevant experience preferred.
