**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
The Local Operations Planning & AIR Support Coordinator plans, manages, and directs the work listing of local assignments in selected areas. Planning includes determining what customer traffic is required, and working with local T&E to ensure the plan is executed. The position records daily metrics on what was delivered versus what was CPKC’s guarantee, and also audits whether service exceptions are required and logged for all of Canada and the USA. This position, through auditing and analysis, also ensures inventory is accurately reported on the AIR iPad and all yards are compliant to have their locals reporting on the iPad.

**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Plan and build Local Service Operating trains in TYES for all designated areas;
- Performs job briefs with crews for work assignments as required;
- Works with Trainmasters as required ensuring accurate work orders are issued to crews;
- Updates scorecards based on the plan (what was requested by customer) versus the actual (what was delivered to the customer) on a customer by customer basis;
- Publishes Industry Service Summary reports daily based off scorecard data;
- Ensures all correct service exception reporting is entered across Canada and US;
- Accountable for planning, managing and directing customer shipments for designated local assignments;
- Review customer shipments and releases;
- Accountable for tracking and developing metrics on CP performance;
- Accountable for Service Exception auditing and associated logging for Canada and USA;
- Identify and enter service exceptions not previously logged;
- Accountable for providing immediate feedback to the Manager on root cause of issues, including the proposed recommendation for change;
- Accountable for identifying systemic problems and escalation as required;
- Accountable for ensuring all systems are performing correctly and escalating issues as required;
- Accountable for inventory reporting accuracy for designated local assignments and providing coaching as required;

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Strong analytical ability;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Effective writing skills, problem resolution skills, and strong verbal communication abilities;
- Ability to exercise innovation, analytical, persuasion & influence skills in solving problems;
- Cross functional understanding of rail operations;
- Demonstrated proficiency with Office productivity software (mainly Excel and Outlook).
