**Purpose**:
The role will support York University's internationalization efforts and global engagement priorities by contributing to the goal of increasing student awareness and participation in global learning opportunities such as academic exchanges, research, and internships abroad and other short-term programs. Reporting to the Associate Director Global Learning and working with relevant York University academic and administrative units, the role will provide advising and program management support to York University students participating in global learning opportunities and visiting international students attending York University for academic and research opportunities. The role will ensure quality student support before, during and after successful completion of global learning programs and will adopt a collaborative approach in resolving issues and program challenges including student crisis and conflict management.

**Education**:
Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as international education, international relations and development, student development, or adult education or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

**Experience**:
Two (2) years' recent and relevant experience in international student mobility programs, preferably in a university environment, developing and/or delivering student programs, support, and services. Experience needs to include coordinating credit and non-credit programs as academic exchanges, summer abroad programs, research placements and internships, etc. navigating University structures, policies, and procedures, and working and supporting students from diverse backgrounds. Experience in event planning, report writing, student facing communications and public speaking is required. International Experience as study abroad, lived abroad or worked abroad is an asset.

**Skills**:
Knowledgeable in an education system(s) outside of Canada (i.e., North America/International).

Knowledgeable in data collection and management.

Well-developed analysis and evaluation skills for continuous improvement purposes.

Excellent intercultural communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team and across campus with diverse stakeholders.

Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent programming and student support.

Outstanding interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including written, oral, and in individual and group settings.

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and projects and pay attention to details.

Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural skills.

Ability to use diplomacy and tact appropriately.

Proven ability to take initiative and be both creative and flexible.

Strong critical thinking, judgement, decision-making and problem-solving skills.

High level of customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, other presentation and design programs and student information systems.
