Overview:

Pyxera Global, an international NGO with offices worldwide, is seeking a part-time local project coordinator to support the management and logistics of a global pro bono program in Toronto, Canada.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing project management and logistical support to a team of high-level corporate volunteers who will provide consulting services to local social sector organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and select potential host client organizations, develop Scope of Works reflecting specific areas of intervention requested by local host client organizations.
  • Support local host client organizations in preparing for the arrival of corporate volunteers, ensuring stakeholder meetings are arranged.
  • Participate in conference calls with corporate volunteers prior to their arrival in Toronto.
  • Provide advice and guidance on SOW delivery to corporate volunteers.
  • Act as the primary interface between Pyxera Global and partner organizations in Toronto, facilitating regular correspondence with staff and stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings with corporate volunteers and host client organizations as needed.
  • Prepare financial and final program reports.

Logistics:

  • Assist in procuring and negotiating accommodations and transportation for corporate volunteers in Toronto.
  • Coordinate program launch and closing events for corporate volunteers and host client organizations.
  • Prepare guides and suggestions for project implementation.
  • Orient new corporate volunteers upon arrival in Toronto.
  • Manage project travel logistics for corporate volunteers during their stay in Toronto.
  • Serve as a logistical and informational resource for corporate volunteers, troubleshooting challenges they may face.
  • Monitor and advise on security arrangements for corporate volunteers while in Toronto.

Requirements:

  • Must reside in Toronto with in-depth knowledge of the area.
  • College degree in project management, organizational development, sustainability, NGO management, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct Gap and SWOT analysis and develop Scopes of Work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with cross-cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteering programs.
  • Ability to multitask and manage diverse tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexible and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in virtual and in-person presentation skills.

Compensation:

This is a part-time consultant position with an estimated timeline of 5-6 months. Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position. The selected local project coordinator will be paid in the local currency of Canada.
