Compensation Range
$6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD Monthly
The Compensation Range is the span between the minimum and maximum base salary for a position. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

Job Summary
The Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging (ELCHA) is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to work as a Project Manager on an interdisciplinary, multi-institutional research project focused on understanding the potential effects of early-life exposure to climate-related disasters across the human life course. The successful applicant will oversee all aspects of project development, implementation and evaluation and will work with an interdisciplinary team of investigators and trainees at the University of British Columbia, BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, BC Centre for Disease Control and international institutions.
Organizational Status
This position reports to the Director of the ELCHA and works closely with the staff of the ELCHA, the research staff and trainees of the Centre Director's laboratory, as well as the other Investigators directly involved in the research project and their staff and trainees. The ELCHA is located on UBC's Vancouver Campus and the incumbent will be expected to work in a hybrid arrangement with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
Work Performed
Manages all aspects of the research project, including establishing project work plans, timelines and staffing resources
Develops and prepares project budgets and forecasts and monitors expenses to ensure they are aligned with the study budget, evaluates priorities, and makes recommendations for budget reductions and management of available resources
Prepares data access requests, information and data sharing agreements and requests to Population Data BC for data access and linkage
Implements research procedures in accordance with protocols, monitors project progress, assesses participant workflow for adherence to research protocols, and keeps investigators and the research team informed of the project progress
Oversees all recruitment and consenting of research participants
Oversees and coordinates data collection, cleaning, and transfer process; consults with data management teams to troubleshoot issues with the data collection platform, and collaborates with the data analysis team for accurate analysis and interpretation to support project development and decision-making
Liaises with the VP Research Office, ORS, UILO, funding agencies, and finance and research offices at collaborating institutions to resolve issues with existing studies and explore opportunities
Works with the Research Director, Manager and Coordinator to manage human resource activities including hiring and supervising Project Assistants and/or volunteers
Develops and implements overarching knowledge translation and dissemination plans and monitor study-specific implementation of the plans
Builds partnerships with multiple stakeholder groups to inform research project design and communicate results, including health authorities, public health agencies, the BC Ministry of Health, community organizations, and members of the public
Acts as a key liaison for the project; responsible for planning, managing and handling communications from media outlets and other parties related to the research project in collaboration with the research team
Oversees organization, documentation, and storage of study data in compliance with research and privacy protocols
Anticipates and manages challenges to achieving research project goals and develops and implements strategies to mitigate them
Develops reports and other communications as requested by study investigators, funders and donors
