**Clerk of the Council**

Zagimē Anishinabēk is a progressive First Nations government, located around 22 KM Northeast of Grenfell Town in Saskatchewan.

**SUMMARY**:Under the direct supervision of the Governance Manager, direction of the Chief and Council and Executive Director, the Clerk of the Council is responsible for planning, assisting, and working with Council of Zagimē Anishinabēk.

**DUTIES**:

- Maintain accurate record of meeting minutes, a chronology of Council resolutions and decisions, and communications of the resolutions and decisions.
- Organize, prepare, and attend meetings and events which may include scheduling bookings, payment, meals, accommodations, documents, communication, invites, honorariums, etc.
- Assisting with the coordination of meeting logistics including Council travel expenses and arranging of facilities and other meeting resources for the organization as required.
- Work with Directors, partner organizations, and external resources to assist in maintaining consistent Council communication.
- Assist with preparingreports, proposals, correspondence, agendas, and other documentation.
- Always maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
- Translate complex governance and business issues.
- Provide reception relief and other administrative support as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Certificate/Diploma in Office Administration or a related field and at least two (2) years of administrative experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Ability to take minutes, audio typing preferred strong typing skills is a necessity.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable, and professional.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Tactful and use good judgement in dealing with sensitive and complex issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong Computer Skills including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of First Nation culture and traditions will be an asset.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule including extended hours and occasional weekends; travel is required.
- Must have a valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must submit a Pre-Employment Substance Test and Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment.
- Knowledge of First Nation culture and traditions will be an asset.
- Experience is a necessity.

**Education**:
