The Construction Monitoring Program (CMP) carries out cleanups and interim remedial works at historic LLRW sites in Port Hope and across Canada, and constructs, operates and performs environmental monitoring of waste storage facilities until a long-term solution is available.

The **Project Coordinator, CMP** position reports to the Manager, Radiation Protection in Port Hope, Ontario. The primary accountability of the CMP Project Coordinator is the delivery of the Construction Monitoring Program. The Project Coordinator is essential to the planning and execution of project and program activities for the CMP, including; site characterization, remediation, monitoring and maintenance at sites in Port Hope, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and along the Northern Transportation Route (NTR), and coordination of the Historic Artefact Recovery Program (HARP).
- The purpose of the Project Coordinator role is to manage the delivery of various scope components of the CMP in order to meet schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives. In general, this involves planning, executing, controlling, reporting on and closing out projects. These sub-projects and scope components are characterized as involving moderate financial commitments, and having multiple work packages, involving multiple interfaces to manage including contractors, consultants, municipal and resident stakeholders.

**What will you be doing**
Coordinating the successful implementation of the Construction Monitoring Program:

- Interacts directly with property owners, municipal staff, contractors, survey and design consultants and other contributing parties involved in the development and implementation of the management of LLW in communities across Canada.
- Assists in preparing/reviewing various project documents including Technical Scope of Work, Statement of Work, project schedules, and project budgets.
- Reviews contractor submittals of, schedules, Standard Operating Procedures, reports, costs/ invoices, etc. and ensure scope requirements are met.
- Reviews consultant submissions of technical studies and detailed reports, to ensure high quality (technical accuracy and appropriateness) and consistency with formats/requirements to CNL technical documentation standards.
- Completes research, provides expert advice and leads the development of practical and economical solutions to specific technical problems encountered by projects.
- Monitoring construction sites throughout Ward 1 of the municipality of Port Hope to identify the presence of LLRW:

- Collecting field measurements using a variety of instrumentation, collecting samples and maintaining accurate/complete records in accordance with prescribed processes and plans; collection, tracking, preparation and analysis of samples for radiological and non-radiological parameters.
- Performing site maintenance activities and provision of oversight to site maintenance contractors.
- Performs characterization activities for sites within the scope of the Construction Monitoring Program, including verification following the completion of remediation work.
- Production and maintenance of detailed records related to measurements and analytical results for field and laboratory work.
- Facilitating removal and in some cases verify remediation of LLRW in accordance with Property owners/Contractors project scope of work:

- Perform CNL led remediation verification activities for sites within the scope of the Construction Monitoring program, in conjunction with CNL’s Third Party Remediation Verification Contractor.
- Maintaining daily logs of contractor activities for work done on behalf of CNL.
- Assist with the safe excavation and TDG Class 7 Shipment of LLRW, excavated from residential and commercial sites around Port Hope.
- Documentation of field and laboratory procedures as they are developed and applied.
- Radiological analyses of environmental samples for alpha, beta and gamma radiation.
- Performing environmental monitoring duties in accordance with established procedures to maintain compliance with 182 License requirements:

- Performing environmental and compliance monitoring at CNL-operated sites, including the Port Hope Environmental Laboratory.
- Performing laboratory work with mínimal supervision.
- Working as part of a team to solve complex environmental challenges.
- Managing data, creating and updating spreadsheets, preparing figures and presentations.
- Administrative, Laboratory and Outdoor field work, with moderate to high physical effort at times.)
