**DUTIES**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must have a university degree in the Social Sciences field, preferably in the field of Education or Disability Studies or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency and a minimum of one (1) year experience teaching in the literacy field and/or adult education;
- Must be fluent in ASL and English, especially written;
- Ability to assist individuals with goal-setting;
- Must have excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Must demonstrate flexibility to adapt curriculum to meet individual needs;
- Must have strong communication skills to deliver comprehensive and effective lessons to meet the needs of the learner;
- Preference will be given to those who have experience in adult literacy training;
- Must have the ability to travel to off-site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required. If method of travel is by vehicle, a current, valid and lawful Driver’s License is required in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act and must provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;
- A Physical Demands analysis will be completed with the incumbent after approximately six months of occupying the position.
