Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the School of Applied Computing. Programs within the School offer students a comprehensive set of practical and critical skills, as well as knowledge in all aspects of Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Networking and Mobile Web Technologies. We are looking for part-time professors to teach in the following course:
**PROG36859**: Advanced Programming

If you are chosen for an interview for this Job Posting (J0623-1859), you will be required to present a 10-minute “mini-teach” on a topic of your choosing from the course outline for PROG36859.

Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.

What You’ll be Doing

Delivering course curriculum in classroom and/or online, which includes ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approach and evaluation techniques

Tutoring and academic counselling of students, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses

Defining, evaluating and validating learning outcomes and designing appropriate strategies and tools for assessing student learning

Developing individualized instruction and multi-media presentations and incorporating technology into the learning process where applicable

Attending periodic faculty meetings

Master’s Degree (Ph. D Preferred) in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering or a related field

Minimum of 3 years related professional experience

Advanced knowledge in Programming, Web Technologies, Cybersecurity or Computer Architecture

Practical experience in Java, Python, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular Framework, NoSQL or RISC/CISC Architecture

Experience with Visual Studio Code, Angular Framework, and/or NodeJS, Assembly Language

Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level or equivalent experience as a trainer in industry preferred;
