The main responsibility of the Health, Safety Coordinator is to provide the necessary resources and support required to enable field personnel to meet all of R.A. Electrical requirements relating to Health and Safety in the workplace, as well as those of our clients.

In this role, the incumbent would report to and work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to:

- Work closely with site-level and unit-level management on maintaining Health and Safety Management Systems, Processes and Training.
- Conduct COR Internal and External Audits
- Carry out workplace/jobsite inspections to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and our health and safety program;
- Make recommendations and develop corrective actions for non-compliance and ensure follow-up for reporting to management;
- Assist with emergency preparedness and with emergency response
- Assist with incident/accident reporting and investigations;
- Assist with developing and implementing policies, practices and procedures;
- Assist with developing job hazard analysis and project safety plans;
- Assist Ministry of Labour inspectors and receive subsequent reports; respond to orders issued;
- Facilitate training sessions for employees;
- Drafts reports for consideration by senior management regarding Health and Safety matters;
- Attend and co-chair JH&S Committee Meetings and prepare agendas, minutes recommendations. Coordinate follow-up activities;
- Assist with H&S accreditation and performance audits (e.g. COR);
- Assist with Return-To-Work programs;
- Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as requested by Health and Safety Manager or Senior Management;
**Responsibilities of Office Administrator**:

- Manage AR systems
- Manage AP systems
- Manage payroll
- Project Coordination and administration
- Protect confidential information and maintain the highest level of discretion
- Must be proficient in Quickbooks, excell, word ect.

**Qualifications and Core Competencies**
- Bookkeeping/Accounting is an asset
- NCSO, JHSC Level I & II not required, but would aim to have prospective employee obtain certification during employment.
- Diploma/Certificate that is Health and Safety related (preferred)
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within the Utilities/Construction Field
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A strong passion for fostering a safe work environment
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals
- Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Able to work under pressure with time constraints
- Comfortable attending construction projects and job sites.
- Valid Driver’s License.
