Reporting to the Manager of Innovation & Technology, the Desktop & Mobility Coordinator supports innovation and continuous improvement of city services and processes through well-designed data and technologies. The coordinator leads a high-performing team to enable effective service delivery for the Community Services department with a quality computing environment comprised of mobile devices, desktops, office software, and associated peripherals. The coordinator organizes, controls, leads and coordinates the acquisition, provision, support and disposal of desktop & mobility assets including:

- Mobile devices including smartphones and tablets and their operating systems
- Laptop and desktop hardware and their operating systems
- Ruggedized computers and associated hardware where needed
- The office productivity suite including word-processing, spreadsheets, digital records and workflows
- Departmental productivity and specialized software
- Workgroup printers, scanners, and multifunction devices
- Endpoint protection

The Innovation & Technology Division is comprised of approximately 20 people organized across 3 branches, and the Division’s annual operating budget is approximately $2M. The Division operates on a hybrid work model, and this position is eligible for a flexible work location in the Winnipeg area and flexible hours under the City’s Flexible Workplace Program.

Early priorities for the Coordinator will include leading the computer evergreening program, developing IT financial management, investment and computer reserve budgets, maturing business process improvement capabilities, and enabling full adoption of the Office365 collaboration platform by client divisions.

**As the** **_Desktop & Mobility Coordinator_** **you will**:

- Contribute to strategic and financial planning for the division.
- Lead and develop high performing teams and people.
- Manage provision and support of mobile, laptop, and desktop hardware and productivity software.
- Manage the Desktop & Mobility asset lifecycle.
- Collaborate with peers supporting other city services and departments for collaborative service delivery to shared customers.

**Your education and qualifications include**:
**Education/Certification/Training**
- Bachelor’s Degree in a management, business, or technology-focused discipline or equivalent education and experience.

**Experience**
- 6 years of progressive experience in innovation or technology roles.
- Experience managing client relationships.
- Experience leading, coaching, providing feedback, delegating, recruiting, and developing people.
- Experience negotiating and influencing in order to impact decisions, solve problems and advance opportunities.
- Experience with project management and change management methods, practices and procedures.
- Financial management experience including financial planning, budgeting and financial monitoring is desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge of desktop and mobility management, including hardware and software support.
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to write politically sensitive and confidential material for senior level staff.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain staff morale, foster, develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with teams, partnerships and alliances.
- Ability to create and promote a healthy and inclusive workplace culture.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and circumstances as well as the ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously.
