Continuing Education - Permanent - Day - Adult ESL Instructor
The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is recruiting an Adult ESL Instructor to teach in a continuing education non-credit ESL and/or LINC class at our Sir Isaac Brock site.
**Summary**:
**Base Wage**: $36.90 or according to the OSSTF-ESL Collective Agreement.
**Qualifications**:
Current TESL Ontario Certification (OCELT)
**Expectations**:
Completion of CLB Bootcamp and Introduction to PBLA from the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks or experience deemed equivalent (recommended within 6 months of hire into casual pool and required for hire into a permanent day or night position)
Knowledge and/or experience with the Canadian Language Benchmarks
Excellent practice and knowledge in the principles of adult learning
Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with teaching colleagues, administrative staff, and the management team
Demonstrated experience teaching online and using Learning Management Systems
Demonstrated experience using information technology as a teaching and learning tool
Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills
