**Position purpose**:
**In this role, your responsibilities will include**:

- Oversee and approve all admissions to CO-OP Programs to ensure files have been properly assessed by faculties and departments. Evaluate and set admission numbers for each program based on analysis of future employment opportunities for students to meet key targets.
- Review and update program regulations and promote them to students so that they fully understand them.
- Analyse and manage special cases, including recommendations as to the withdrawal of a student with or without a failing mark, so that they can be presented at the CO-OP Coordinating Commitee meetings. Analyse student files to ensure they meet all requirements and ensure students are eligible to graduate with the CO-OP mention.
- Research and propose career tools and resources to help CO-OP students with finding a program-related experiential learning opportunity, being hired for jobs or improving their networking strategies. Counsel students encountering difficulties with the placement process and analyse statistics to proactively identify at risk students that would benefit from implementing an action plan to help them succeed and offering them some coaching and professional development advice.
- Advise clientele on career self-management including work search strategies, labour market research and the evaluation of further education options. Assist in the development of Canadian and international job search strategies
- Develop and facilitate customized modules, workshops, and webinars related to competencies, employability skills, employment and experiential learning (e.g., resume writing, interview skills, career planning, job search strategies, and career preparation strategies).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of career tools and resources and experiential learning theory, student employment issues, employment (labour market) trends and workplace issues to accurately advise students.
- Establish and maintain relationships with faculty members in order to effectively manage the full CO-OP admissions process, to assess academic requirements and to collaborate on career and skills development projects.
- Work with our marketing team to provide content for various promotional tools and actively participate in promotional events, both on and off campus, that aim to inform students and incite them to join CO-OP at the University of Ottawa.

**What you will bring**:

- Postsecondary education in a relevant field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience in customer service in the context of academic counselling or career development or a similar role.
- Experience in developing and delivering workshops and presentations.
- Knowledge of labor market conditions, occupations, and professions, as well as education options in Ontario, Canada and abroad.
- Experience in dealing with and in handling program admissions.
- Demonstrated commitment to multicultural issues. Skills in interacting with persons of diverse backgrounds.
- Strong team and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders (faculty and services).
- Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Bilingualism (speaking, reading, and writing in English and French) is required.
