Toronto, Canada Rapport Credit Union Full time

The Risk and Payments Officer will be primarily responsible for the reconciliation of Rapport’s branches’ ATMs and all Point of Sale (POS) transactions. The incumbent will resolve outstanding balancing issues and process holds accordingly on deposits and cheques. The incumbent will also provide back-up on various Risk and Payment functions when required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare daily reconciliation of ATM and Point of Sale transactions including deposit transaction. Ensure that all outstanding items are resolved on a monthly basis.
- Count and verify ATM deposits received and reconcile against report. Prepare Deposit Posting and Correction Sheet. Post Deposit Posting sheet and correction sheet processed by the branches.
- Daily review of all deposits made via online banking.
- Daily review/audit of cleared corporate cheques.
- Prepare weekly reconciliation of all ATM machines.
- Prepare weekly reconciliation of outstanding Corporate Cheques issued.
- Process cash order for the branch as required.
- Prepare and post journals for ATM cash load and cash returns reported by Brinks.
- Post journals for cash ordered and ATM cash load received from the branches.
- Maintain neat and organized files of all ATM and Point of Sale reconciliations and their supporting documents. Ensure all documentation is prepared annually for record storage.
- Liaison with branches, Data Department and Network Company to resolve any balancing problems.
- Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts as directed by management.
- Provide support and backup for all clerical functions within the Accounting Department as directed by management.
- Assume and discharge any other assignments as directed.

**Education and Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum three (3) years’ accounting experience in a financial institution preferred.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Working knowledge of WB Banking System an asset.
- Must have a strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with other functional areas.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate differences.
- Basic mathematical abilities, such as balancing, determining percentages and ratios are required.
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
