**The Opportunity**

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Supervisor, Accounting is responsible for supervising a team of professional accountants, planning/coordinating activities and overseeing operation of accounting programs on a corporate wide basis. The Supervisor provides guidance/assistance, technical advice and training to Managers and staff throughout the Town on accounting and financial reporting. The Supervisor also prepares the Town’s financial statements and responds to internal and external audit questions. The incumbent in this role is expected to work with mínimal supervision, exercise professional judgement, making responsible decisions to support departmental and corporate goals. As the Supervisor, Accounting, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

- Review the accuracy/approve journal entries, accounts payable requisitions, EFT and cheque payments made by the Corporation to ensure adherence to corporate procedures and to mitigate fraud/errors.
- Approval of all banking transactions, Security Releases, and Bank Reconciliation.
- Oversee all functions of Accounts Payable.
- Update Reserve and DC Reserves on regular basis.
- Responsible for all year-end reconciliation, review of permission of CP System, updating approval matrix, department list and Admin list on CP.
- Resolve Ad-hoc issues related to CP and GP.
- Ensures division follows appropriate legislation, corporate policy, by-laws.
- Provides leadership and direction to staff and ensures proper training and experience is gained by team members.
- Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.

We are seeking an accounting professional with education, training and/or knowledge from a post-secondary degree in Accounting/Finance, or related field at a minimum as well a Chartered Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) in Canada.

This position offers a salary range of $ 96,177.04 to $117,865.44.
